For us, the founders of Muma, empanadas aren't just food; they are a core memory. Growing up in Tucumán, Argentina, widely known as the "Empanada Capital," the smell of dough and savory fillings was the soundtrack to our childhood kitchen. Our mother didn't just cook; she created moments of connection.
When we moved to Miami, we fell in love with the city's energy, the speed, and the vibrant culture. But we missed that essential bite of home. We found empanadas, sure, but they felt stuck in the past—heavy, greasy, or lacking the soul we remembered.
The Evolution of Homemade We realized that to bring the real Argentine empanada to the U.S., we couldn't just copy-paste the past. We had to evolve it. Miami doesn't have time for a two-hour siesta lunch. Miami needs fuel that is fast, fresh, and looks as good as it tastes.
Muma is the bridge between those two worlds. We took the authentic recipes and techniques from Tucumán and injected them with Miami's vibrant energy. We added colors derived from real vegetables and created flavors that range from comforting classics to bold new profiles.
Muma is our tribute to where we came from, designed specifically for where we are now.
